LOOKING FOR A COMPANY EVENT THAT ALSO GIVES BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY?
We can help to organize that event - whether it be just the clean up or an entire event with competition, clean up, education and refreshments / breakfast or lunch.
The MAIN EVENT is of course the clean up of an area in a selected community - streets or a park. All of the equipment needed is provided by VCC - gloves, grabbers, vests and bags. The group is divided into teams who then branch out in to assigned areas to do a specific amount of time (usually 1 1/2 hours) to pick up litter and illegal dumping items in that area - bag it and leave it on a curbside for VCC to pick up and discard after the event.
TEAM BUILDING would involve the competition:
All of these games can be built into an event that will provide fun, outdoor activities and a meaningful corporate event.
VCC can customize that event for your organization. Just give us a call / email.
Huge Corporate Event with Shepherds Church in Porter Ranch at the Sepulveda Basin
Make a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the community as a group!
Julie Barton MPA, MLS, Project Coordinator V - Community Impact Champion | Advocacy Ambassador - contacted VCC in order to organize a personal clean up event for her group at Medtronic and even though the temperature was close to 100 degrees we had an enthusiastic group show up to help their community look just a little cleaner.
VCC set up the parameters of the clean up and provided the grabbers, gloves, vests and bags for the clean up. Medtronic has community involvement and environmental dedication as one of their missions - so this was just one part of their dedication to the community.
We divided into 5 groups of 4-5 employees each then set out to work Zelzah north and south; Lindley north and south; Kingsbury and Hiawatha streets and cleaned for about one and a half hours.
Everyone came back saying that they never thought the area was so trashy and that they could definitely see the difference...and that they actually enjoyed the activity. We had a delicous lunch in the conference room at Medtronic and discussed trash, how it is getting better and how to involve VCC in a future activity with even more employees.
Together the group collected 30 bags of litter from the streets. Thank you and Congratulations!
This wonderful group was part of the Devonshire Street Clean Up Event.
VCC VOLUNTEERS: Cash, Charlotte, Victoria and Wesley Ishida, Dale and myself.
There was Sarah Martin from Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel's office and 24+ members of the Mosque.
The property is absolutely beautiful and Adnan bought us donuts and coffee to start the morning. We gathered - took a great group picture - vested up and got assignments for cleaning up around Hale Junior High and El Camino High School and the local vicinity.
We got 5 teams heading out different directions on both sides of the street cleaning up for 2 hours approximately. It was a swarm of yellow vests on the streets... great picture.
We collected about 20+ bags of trash off the street and some debris - construction articles, curtains and lots of wood. All were disposed of by the group, myself and Don Larson (for the bigger stuff).
It was a beautiful day - great weather and nice people. Made a difference in the community!

FROM THEIR WEBISTE:
At Cabeau, we make a difference that goes beyond our great products which are the best in travel accessories such as neck pillows. We also give back.
Each month, we shut down our office for one day and Team Cabeau appreciates their privilege of serving a local charity or organization. Whether we’re creating kits for those in need, preparing food for the homeless, or handing out camouflage travel pillows to Marines on deploy, we value the importance of community service and take on opportunities at every turn.
This month they chose VCC as their charity!
We had 17 volunteers report to the Balboa Sports Park area and divided into 4 teams to cover the areas of Balboa north to Victory and south to Ventura Blvd - then east and west on Burbank Blvd. We worked 2 hours and even got the middle island area down Balboa which was exceptionally trashy.
We met back at the parking lot and had picked up 40 1/2 bags of trash from the street in just the 2 hours! Great job and thank you for selecting VCC this month!

This was a call to clean up the details of the train station after the massive clean up the city, county did to place the unhoused into housing and doing the full cleaning of the county property that is along the LA River area...the clean up only gets the big stuff, so we wanted to get it all.
We divided into 4 teams working the county line property next to the LA River, the Metro land that is adjacent to the county line, the parking lot and the fenceline along the train tracks. We also did the bike path on the opposite side of the train station.
We were able to do it all in under 2 hours... great teamwork and a beautiful morning.
We got 50 bags of trash off the property - a tire, a huge umbrella frame, a big TV and lots of clothes. We got 2 shopping carts back to the store as well.
The station is clean now... and though there are still some unhoused sleeping on the train depot side of the station in the trees and on the benches - it is fairly free of the unhoused... still so much human feces in the bushes and around the electrical boxes... this will take some time to remedy. Thank you all for helping today!
Cash and I drove through not an hour later and there again... was a blanket and a bag of half eaten and new food tossed on the sidewalk.. we picked it up! Amazing that there are people who just do not care about the citizens in the community!
